An Electric Three Wheel Scooter Verse an Electric Wheelchair
Thursday, March 8th, 2007We are no longer living in the days where, when we are faced with limited mobility we have to sit at home and wait until our love ones have some free time to take us from point A to point B. Those of us who are faced with limited mobility can now purchase a three-wheel scooter to help us around our homes as well as around our neighbourhood.
There are many similarities between an electric three-wheel scooter and an electric wheelchair. Nevertheless there are some differences between them. However, please bear in mind that with these two types of machines, it is not a matter of competition, it is more a matter of what is best for you.
If you are faced with upper and lower body movement restrictions than an electric wheelchair may be better for you. The reason for this is that a “joystick” is what mainly controls the electric wheelchair so there is no need to greatly, or if at all, move your body. On the other hand if you do not have any upper and or lower body movement restrictions and you desire to keep yourself active, then a three-wheel scooter will be good for you. The reason for that is that the scooter is built with a handle that is shaped like that of a bicycle handle, but it is a bit larger.
The price is also another factor that can come into play here. Most often than not the electric wheelchairs tend to be a bit more expensive than a three-wheel scooter. So if all that you are looking for is something to assist you as you do your weekly supermarket shopping and the other activities that are a part of your daily living, then the scooter will be more to your advantage
