Mini ATVs
Sunday, June 3rd, 2007When Dad brings home his new ATV the kids are going to want one of their own. Fortunately they make mini ATVs for just that purpose. Many of the mini ATVs are designed to grow with your child so you won’t have to worry about purchasing another one in a year or two.
When shopping for a mini ATV, safety should be the number one option. You will want to shop for one that is well balanced. Stability is a very important factor if you want to avoid the possibility of a turn over. Hydraulic hand brakes are also an important feature because of their ease of use.
Another feature to look for on a mini ATV is the automatic kill switch. Your child should never be allowed to ride without one. Usually these are attached to a bracelet which the child wears on his wrist. If the ATV should turn over or your child raises his arm off the handle, the kill switch will automatically disengage the engine. Some of the mini ATVs also have a kill switch in the rear in case of an emergency. This could allow another adult to run up behind the ATV and kill the engine without getting in the way or risking the chance of being hit.
Most of the mini ATVs have speed limits on them that will only allow them to get up to approximately 30 mph. This is adequate speed for young children but still allows them to have a good time.
Mini ATVs come in various styles and colors which appeal to the younger set. Buying a mini ATV for your child can create lots of good, wholesome fun for you and the kids. It will allow your child to feel a sense of independence while enjoying the sport of ATV riding. With your help and guidance, it can also teach your child responsibility. Your child will usually follow your lead so teaching safety can not only save your child’s life, it can also provide many hours of shared pleasure. Buying your child his very own mini ATV could be one of the most pleasurable times in his young life.
